Is there too much radon in your home?
Measure it reliably with a long-term test. The detectors are analysed by an accredited laboratory.
Need a quick answer, for example when buying a property? Rent a RadonEye monitor: it shows first readings after just 10 minutes, and within 14 days you get an assessment with our interpretation.

The heating season, from October to April, is the best time to measure radon, because indoor levels are usually highest then.

Radon: A Dangerous Gas You Cannot Detect
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas. It enters buildings from the ground through cracks, shafts and drains, accumulating in enclosed spaces, most commonly in basements and ground floors. It is colourless, odourless and tasteless, so it can only be detected through measurement.
≈ 3 - 14% of all lung cancers in a country are caused by radon, depending on the national radon level and smoking rates. Source: World Health Organization (WHO)

+16 % is how much the risk of lung cancer increases with every additional 100 Bq/m³ of long-term radon exposure.

100 Bq/m³ is the reference level recommended by the World Health Organization. Source: World Health Organization (WHO)

According to the World Health Organization, radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. The good news: almost every home with too much radon can be remediated, often with simple measures.
How would you like to measure radon?
For a reliable assessment, the first step is a long-term measurement. If you need a quick answer, choose the quick screening test. For continuous monitoring, for example after remediation, choose your own monitor.
Recommended first step
Long-term measurement
Radtrak³® passive detectors · accredited laboratory
A reliable estimate of the average annual radon concentration. The detectors need no power and stay in your rooms for 2 - 3 months or more, then are analysed by the Radonova laboratory, accredited under ISO/IEC 17025.
Why two detectors? → Radon concentration can differ greatly between rooms in the same house. One detector shows the situation in only one room; two give a much more reliable picture of your home.

When you need a quick answer
Quick screening test
The monitor measures continuously and within a few days shows whether radon is likely a problem and how it changes during the day, at night and when you ventilate.

Your own digital monitor
The monitor stays in your home and measures radon continuously. It shows current values, fluctuations and the long-term average, so it also suits a long-term screening measurement, ideally after remediation or in a building with fluctuating values. Our recommendation is the RadonEye monitor.

Choose a monitor
The quick test and your own monitor give indicative results. For a reliable assessment, and always before you decide on remediation, we recommend a long-term measurement with Radtrak³® detectors. For employers, a screening measurement does not replace the measurement by an authorised provider required by law.

From measurement to a safer home in six steps
1. Long-term measurement - Start with a long-term measurement that lasts at least 2 months, ideally 3 or more, and during the heating season. If you are short on time, for example when buying a property, a quick screening test with a RadonEye monitor gives you a first assessment.

2. Inspection and advice - If the values are elevated, we find where radon enters the building and propose measures, in an online consultation or on site.

3. Remediation - The measures are carried out by a contractor of your choice, from sealing entry points and improving ventilation to extracting air from beneath the foundation slab.
4. Follow-up measurement - Within a year of remediation, use a long-term measurement to check whether the measures have really reduced the radon concentration.
5. Continuous monitoring - With your own digital monitor you track radon over time and quickly notice if the measures lose their effect.
6. Regular checks - Repeat the long-term measurement every 5 years and after any major renovation, for example after energy-efficiency upgrades or replacing windows.
We reduced radon also in our own home
When we bought an old house and renovated it thoroughly, nobody warned us about radon. The measurement showed excessively high values, so we installed a ventilation system beneath the foundation slab. Passive draft was not enough: only with an added fan did we bring the radon concentration down from 2,400 to below 100 Bq/m³.
RadonBlue grew out of this experience, so that others learn about radon in time, before the renovation, not after it.
"The first and most important step is measurement."

Is your area a high-radon zone?
Radon levels vary greatly from region to region, depending on the geology of the ground. Under EU rules, every member state must identify areas where radon levels are likely to be higher. Check the radon map for your country to see whether your area is affected.
But be careful: radon can occur in any building, even outside the marked areas, and also after an energy-efficiency renovation, when the building becomes more airtight. Only a measurement shows whether there is too much radon in your home.
